Innovative transport packaging for fruit from SoFruPak
The new transport packaging, the SoFruPak® and SoFruBox®, are dedicated to soft fruits. They are developed by the firm with the same name (SoFruPak) and produced in cooperation with SmurfitKappa Poland.
The packaging offers better protection against unwanted external influences, such as mildew and other harmful fungi, compared to the traditional crates.The SoFruPak® and SoFruBox® offer specific advantages regarding their traditional counterparts. Firstly, with the help of airholes in the walls and bottom of the packaging, the product is cooled down more quickly and efficient. Thereby the freshness of the product is ensured for a longer period of time. Secondly, when empty, the packaging can be folded down. Because of this, there are less costs and a lower environmental impact when transporting the empty packaging. By folding the packaging, a 85% space reduction is achieved. On a pallet fit 2430 folded SoFruPaks, compared to 360 traditional empty crates.
